This picture is actually based on one the team rooms where I worked. We actually had 2 scrum teams using the room – there were 2 scrum boards and 2 story maps hanging up in a rather small room, that would get uncomfortably hot in the summer! It used to give me great pleasure to go in there first thing in the morning and check how things were progressing. You can feel the energy in a room like that – in the summer you could also smell the energy 😉  One thing I particularly liked, was that one team had hung cards above the scrum board with the most common phrases/excuses that came up at daily scrums. When someone used one of these phrases there was general laughter – followed by the acknowledgement that we might be fooling ourselves!

“We feel optimistic about…”

“That only requires an ‘if… then…’ expression”

“Basically it’s nearly finished”

“We don’t have any infrastructure problems”

The strip itself probably makes more sense if you’ve seen “Apocalypse Now” 😉
