This actually started out, thinking about the phases that a scrum master or agile coach goes through. The initial enthusiasm, becoming a true believer, getting hung up on the mechanics of the framework, preaching agile to anyone who’ll listen, attending conferences, coming up with ever more inventive retros, delving more and more into the dynamics of relationships within the team, learning how to draw fancy flip-charts, etc. Then there’s the work with the organisation. Outside the safe environment that has been created with the team. Finally, there’s org-wide agile transformations. They’re usually as disappointing as The Phantom Menace. Hence the cartoon…

Just realised that this cartoon is very age specific. You probably only get it, If you grew up with Star Wars as I did and waited so so so long for another film – and then that film is The Phantom Menace.
